Vicki’s relationship with Elias is strained due to an unfortunate event when their work lives crossed and blew up. Isolated, she runs into the park and cries in the arms of the homeless street artist who had captured her affections.
Will Vicki and Elias reunite? In turn, Jesse learns his own self worth and that he is not someone to just be used and abused. Yours to Take was no doubt a hot and sexy read but it was also an emotional journey of growth for each character as well as learning to accept the truth inside, even if it scares you.
Upon arrival at her house, it becomes clear to Elias that Jesse wants to be more than just a new lodger. Basically, Elias is a detective whose partner was killed by a criminal Vicki defended.
I loved how Ms. It was quite refreshing to read a book so very new with so many different feelings and emotions. Needing to see her again and get her to understand he is in love with her and wants to be her submissive her chances a meeting with her in front of her home. Having a female switch just made it all the more interesting, IMO. Joely Sue Burkhart is the first in quite a long time to be in that very sparsely populated category for me. I loved the first two books about the connaghers.
And though Vicki loves Elias their relationship is missing something for her and she finds that something in Jesse and realizes, with the help of her brother and some quirky friends, that she has a dominant personality while Jesse is a true submissive. Sort of like kissing a lot of frogs before you find that prince.
